Fly In - Walk & Mara game drives
2 nights/ 3 days
$ 365/person

Day 1. We pick you up from the Kichwa Tembo airstrip after you arrive by air from Nairobi (flight is not included in package). 

 

Guided birding and wildlife drive to Ol Konoi Camp.  Settle in.  Lunch.  Afternoon activities of your choice.  Dinner by candlelight.

 

Day 2.  Walking safaris with themes of your choice (see list).

 

Day 3. Game drive in Masai Mara with lunch in the reserve at Serena Lodge.  Afternoon game drive & then to return flight or continue with us ala carte.

 

Accommodation in budget safari tent with linens provided.  Hot or cold Safari showers and tidy toilets hallmark our Ol Konoi Camp.

  • AM Birding  - search woodland savanna and forests near Ol Konoi Camp with a local bird guide.  Group size up to 4 pax.  $10/person (included as an option in packages).

 

  • Escarpment Sunrise Breakfast - Brisk walk in the cool magical pre-dawn to the "edge of the world".  From ancient volcanic rocks watch as the sun rises gold, orange, and pink, over the Mara.  Juice, coffee, eggs, mandazi picnic. Return to Ol Konoi Camp.  $30 (by foot, included in pkg) $60 (if by vehicle).

 

 

  • Out of Africa Walking Safari -  Visit where Denys Finch Hatton (Robert Redford) and Karen Blixen (Meryl Streep) were filmed.  Day-long walk with wildlife on the Siria Plateau and by telescope into the Mara Triangle. Picnic lunch overlooking the Mara.  Guide, water & lunch included.  $65 (included in pkg)

 

  • Many more activities can be planned on site: Maasai dance lessons, bow and arrow shooting, honey collection (seasonal), visits to Nyekweri Forest, cultural visits, running, crafts market, etc.
